There are two requirements for all domains not purchased through HotDoodle:
1. Inform Hotdoodle about the new domain - enables HotDoodle to route traffic for this domain to your site 2. Inform the domain about HotDoodle - requires domain owner to visit respective vendor site.

Getting to the Config Domains Screen
Domains are managed from the "Config Domains" screen.
If you are in the HotDoodle main site:
Go to the "My Stuff" page, find your site and click Get Domain.
If you are within your site:
From the "Administration" tab on the toolbar, chose Configure Site. then choose
Once in the Site Options screen, click Config Domains
Configuring Externally Purchased Domain Via HotDoodle
You will be given options to enter the domain you already own.
Enter your domain name (without http or www) and save. You are done with this part.
Wait
HotDoodle will be ready to resolve your domain to your site within an hour. This is the time it takes the name servers and the web server to absorb the new association between your domain and your site.
This does not mean that you are ready to go. The step "2. Inform the domain about HotDoodle" must also be done.
